Deadend Magazine Weekend Report - Mooneyes Hot Rod Custom Show

This past weekend we made our way back to Yokohama Japan for the Mooneyes' Hot Rod Custom Show. You've probably heard from many people that this is THE show to go to. You heard right. This show is hard to put into words. If you've never gone you need to do yourself a favor and get yourself to Yokohama the first weekend of December one year. Arigato to everyone who stopped by the booth!

Congrats to our good friend Coby for having his Econoline 'Van Go' as a special guest.

For the first time Deadend Magazine was given the opportunity to choose a car to give an award to. We picked Cholo's Custom's killer 1954 Chevy ' Sphinx' you can see why. Although Sphinx is clean enough to be a show car. Cholo drove this Chevy 4 hours (each way) to the show! Respect.

Deadend Magazine Weekend Report - 10/26/17

It's been a busy week at the Deadend Magazine headquarters. The week followed an equally busy weekend. We headed to Southern California for a few shoots and a couple events.
Our first stop was National City to shoot James Thomson's latest purchase, a custom painted 1964 Chevy wagon. The wagon was built, painted (and owned) by Manuel Cisneros before James got his hands on it.

Sunday Morning we headed to Riverside, CA to meet up with the fellas from Jimenez Brothers to shoot a 1938 Chevrolet Cabriolet. The owner Pelon Arzola goes to extreme measures to keep his '38 looking clean. One of the cleanest cars we've ever shot.

We've been trying to shoot Phillip Gabriel's Lincoln for a few months and glad we were finally able to. These days it's getting harder to build a mild custom and really stand out. We believe Phillip achieved this with his Lincoln and all it took was a killer color, the right stance and wheels.

Deadend Magazine Late Weekend Report - 10/18/17

Sunday morning we met up with Victor Luna (Style Kings) to shoot his mild custom 1951 Mercury in Fremont, CA. Vic picked up this beautiful Mercury not to long ago from a local car collector who built it back in the 1980's. So far Vic has only made minor changes to the car. The biggest being adding hydraulic suspension and changing the hubcaps, which really changed the profile of the car.

Saturday morning we headed to Antioch, CA to vend and shoot at Billetproof. We've been attending Billetproof for over 10 years and have been vending almost as many. We always have a good time and look forward to seeing our friends from all over the bay area and their cars. This year we had a great time once again. As you can see there were many nice customs, hot rods and even low riders. Thanks to everyone who stopped by the Deadend Magazine booth.

Sunday morning we shot Ray Landa's 1959 Chevy Apache in Soledad, CA. Ray is one of the locals here in Monterey County who has been in the car scene for many years, he joined New Image Car Club back in 1977 and has been cruising ever since. His truck is one of those cool rides you can see on the streets any given day. Being laid out and rolling on Supremes with white walls gives it just the right look, so we had to get some shots of it. We are working on putting together a little video of our shoot so stay tuned.
