Throwback - Cal Flavor 2012

Deadend Magazine's 2nd trip to Japan was to Local Hero's (Now Deadend Magazine Japan) 1st Cal Flavor held in Nagoya Japan. We expected the event to be fun but we had no idea exactly how fun it would be. Toshi and the Local Hero crew hosted a really cool "100% Fresh California Style Fiesta"
The event lived up to the "California Style Fiesta." There was a ton of Japan's best Customs, Low Riders, Hot Rods (why we were there) mixed up with some Mini Trucks, VW's, USDM, Vans, BMX bikes... It was a good mixture of California inspired cultures mixed into one show.

Leaving our hotel early in the A.M. we saw this fella with his Impala waiting for his crew.

Watching the cars roll in was as fun as being at the show.

Japan may be known for wild customs, low riders & paint jobs but the crew at Art's Body is building some really nice traditionally inspired Hot Rods in Nagoya Japan.

This being only our 2nd trip to Japan we were pleasantly surprised with the amount of people supporting Deadend Magazine.

We had a great time at the show and getting to know Nagoya Japan. We have returned to the land of the rising sun a few time since but this trip was very fun & special.
