Deadend Magazine Weekend Report - 02/21/19

This weekend we headed down to Southern California for a couple photo shoots.

A couple years ago Scott Crothers and his wife drove his 1940 Chevy pick-up from Marina Del Rey, CA to our car show the Custom Capital (that’s over 300 miles in the middle of summer) As soon as he pulled up to the Deadend Magazine store we noticed it and knew we’d shoot it one day. We just didn’t know it would take us so long. We’re glad we finally did and this time instead of the hot summer heat Scott had to drive about an hour in the blistering cold & short rain fall.

The pick-up started it’s custom life at Masterson Kustoms and was finished at Craftmaster Custom in Lynwood, CA. The 1968 327 and 700r4 keep the Chevy on the road but what really makes the little truck stand out is all the custom touches. Like the 4” channel over the frame, 4 point coil over suspension (that’s right no airbags), suicide doors and 1940 Merc rear bumper with custom bumper guards and taillights. If everything goes well Scott plans to drive the pick-up back up to this year’s Custom Capital. We hope to see you here!

Deadend Magazine Weekend Report - 02/13/18

This past weekend we headed down to Southern California once again. We had a chance to shoot Rudy's "Chile Verde" Chevy Pick-Up. If you've ever been cruising in the So Cal area in the last 16+ years chances are you've seen Rudy hitting the streets. He takes his truck out for a cruise as often as possible. We've definitely enjoyed seeing 'Chile Verde' cruise the last few years and glad we finally had a chance to shoot it.

We started the weekend shooting a very cool local Chevy pick-up owned by Santiago. We literally saw Santiago cruise by the Deadend Magazine store one day and knew we had to shoot the pick-up. We're glad finally had the chance to snaps some pics of it. The pick-up is as clean in person as it looks in pics. Enjoy.

We also had a chance to shoot a nice Harley Davidson built by Cole Foster (Salinas Boys Customs) for Don from U.S. Radiator company. If you're familiar with Cole Foster's work you can clearly see his style written all over this one.

Deadend Magazine Weekend Report - 10/26/17

It's been a busy week at the Deadend Magazine headquarters. The week followed an equally busy weekend. We headed to Southern California for a few shoots and a couple events.
Our first stop was National City to shoot James Thomson's latest purchase, a custom painted 1964 Chevy wagon. The wagon was built, painted (and owned) by Manuel Cisneros before James got his hands on it.

We've been trying to shoot Phillip Gabriel's Lincoln for a few months and glad we were finally able to. These days it's getting harder to build a mild custom and really stand out. We believe Phillip achieved this with his Lincoln and all it took was a killer color, the right stance and wheels.

Deadend Magazine Weekend Report - 09/18/17

Saturday morning we headed to Antioch, CA to vend and shoot at Billetproof. We've been attending Billetproof for over 10 years and have been vending almost as many. We always have a good time and look forward to seeing our friends from all over the bay area and their cars. This year we had a great time once again. As you can see there were many nice customs, hot rods and even low riders. Thanks to everyone who stopped by the Deadend Magazine booth.

Sunday morning we shot Ray Landa's 1959 Chevy Apache in Soledad, CA. Ray is one of the locals here in Monterey County who has been in the car scene for many years, he joined New Image Car Club back in 1977 and has been cruising ever since. His truck is one of those cool rides you can see on the streets any given day. Being laid out and rolling on Supremes with white walls gives it just the right look, so we had to get some shots of it. We are working on putting together a little video of our shoot so stay tuned.
