Los Angeles Cruise Night | Back to the Sixth 2019

We were able to sneak away from the Grand National Roadster Show for a little while to hit up the “Back to the Sixth” cruise night in Downtown Los Angeles. It’s always a good time catching cars cruising the streets of L.A. especially if the Los Angeles Cruise Night committee puts it together.

Deadend Magazine Weekend Report - 01/10/18

We spent the first weekend of 2018 doing what we do best.. Traveling & shooting a lot of photos.

The first thing we thought when we saw a picture of Bo's '60 Pontiac wagon was that it reminds us of the guys from Strongers Car Club in Japan. Our friends from Strongers seem to have really good taste and always pick the coolest cars to build. Pontiacs, Buicks, Oldsmobiles, Mercurys, and a couple Chevrolets. They choose some less common cars to build and they do some nice mild custom work and always use unique colors. The second thought was that we had to set up a photo shoot and see it in person. Well turns out Bo was not really looking for unique car to build he was just keeping it in the family. Bo's grandfather is the original owner, his family drove it out to California from New Jersey back in 1964. His mother drove it to high school then it was parked for a long time but the wagon never left the family. Bo brought it back to life with his own twist. Everything has been gone through from drivetrain to interior. Other than the color and the fact that it is a Pontiac wagon the hand made roof rack makes the wagon stand out. Bo drives all the cars he builds, you can expect to see him out cruising with the family.

After our shoot we headed to Downtown Los Angeles for the Los Angeles Cruise Night. A couple years ago the LACN folks had a farewell cruise for the 6th Street Bridge. This past weekend we met up once again at the same location (minus the bridge which has since been torn down) There was a couple hundred cars cruising in & around the area.

After the cruise we stuck around Downtown Los Angeles to shoot Rob House's super clean mild custom Chevy Fleetline. We first noticed Rob House's smooth mild custom Chevy when he debuted it at the Grand National Roadster Show in 2006. The tasteful custom work combined with the perfect wheels seem to catch a lot of people's attention. We have wanted to showcase it ever since. This past weekend we were finally able to make it happen. Over the past 11 years or so Rob has put six different sets of wheels on his ride, but out of all of them he thinks the TrueSpokes look best. We agree with him. To some people it is just a simple mild custom 50 Chevy, but the spokes make it a low rider. It reminds us of the style of car that we always in the search for. We grew up in a town full of low riders, but when we first went to Paso Robles we realized how cool custom cars can be. Rob's Fleetline reminds us of those killer rides we would always see in Paso Robles. The cars that look stock but have a lot of custom work done seem to be the coolest, especially with the right wheels. The fastback is proof that good taste is timeless, it has been around for over a decade and still looks killer every time we see it. It looks like it is fresh and still stands out.

Deadend Magazine Weekend Report - 02/27/17

This past weekend we headed down to San Diego, CA to check out the Big 3 Swapmeet for the first time. The Big 3 lived up to it's reputation and ur expectations. Many of our friends from all over the state kept saying they were finding deals throughout the weekend. We snapped a few shots of some of the cool cars we seen while walking though the endless isles.

After a few hours of catching up with friends and walking the isles we headed to downtown Los Angeles to the Teen Angel exhibit & book release. We didn't capture many photos but here are a couple.

Deadend Magazine Weekend Report - 12/19/16

This weekend we co-hosted the annual JV's Garage Shindig in Chula Vista, CA. Joe from JV's Garage has become family and we always enjoy co-hosting the event. Some of the coolest cars from the San Diego & Los Angeles area come out to enjoy what is usually our last automotive event of the year. If you've never been you should put it on your to-do list next year. Here are some photos we captured. Enjoy..

After the Shindig we headed to East Los Angeles for the Whittier Blvd cruise night. Whittier Blvd is always a good time.

Los Angeles Cruise Night - Farewell to the 6th Street Bridge

Ten months ago a few homies got together to host a cruise night every weekend paying homage to the iconic 6th Street Bridge in Los Angeles, CA. What started as a small cruise night manifested into a historic event this past Sunday. Low Riders, Bombs, Customs, Hot Rods & Motorcycles from all over California came out to cruise and hang out. There was no way we would miss this event. We spent all day (until the LAPD shut it down) snapping photos on, under and around the bridge. Here is just a taste...

Early the next morning a few of us decided to head south to the Los Angeles Cruise Night Farewell Cruise for the iconic 6th Street Bridge. These are just a glimpse of the amazing amount of low riders, customs, and hot rods that showed up to pay homage. Cars were cruising and posted up all day on, under & around the bridge.
