Mooneyes Hot Rod Custom Show 2018

This past weekend we had the pleasure of attending and vending at the Mooneyes Custom Hot Rod Show in Yokohama Japan. There aren’t many events like the world renowned annual “Yokohama” show. People from all across the world make the trek to check out the colorful Japanese low riders, crazy customs, and invited guests from all over the globe. There really is no other event like it. Thanks to everyone who stopped by the Deadend Magazine booth.

Fit Kustom Tokyo Japan

El Classico is a shop based in Tokyo Japan, better know by their car club name "Fit Kustoms". They build top notch American custom cars. One of their most notable builds is the candy red 1957 Chevy Nomad know as "Acid 57". We visited the shop on our latest trip to Japan. We have been there in the past but we are still blown away every time we see the latest projects and their parts collection.

Custom Hill 2018

Last month we visited Japan to attend the Custom Hill Reunion. We were fortunate enough to ride with our homies from Pharaohs Car Club. The Pharaohs all drive very traditional styled lowriders with hydraulics and bias ply tires. We rolled with them on a five hour drive from Nagoya to the car show. The drive was a lot of fun and a great experience, the car show did not disappoint. There was a good mix of customs and lowriders and even some cool hot rods, surrounded by beautiful nature. Thanks to everyone who stopped by the Deadend Magazine booth.

The Road to Custom Hill Reunion 2018 w/Pharaohs Car Club

We have been fortunate enough to travel to Japan numerous times, and every time is a different and great experience. The best part of being in Japan is making memories with old and new friends, having the opportunity to become friends with the people we meet and interact with.

A couple of weeks ago we went back to Japan to attend the Custom Hill car show, we really didn’t know much about the event but we had heard good things about it. We were lucky enough to ride from Nagoya to the show area with our homies from Pharaohs Car Club and a couple of rides from Primera Car Club. Junichi and the rest of the crew let us ride with them in their bad ass low riders. It took us about five hours with a couple of stops in between. I noticed that every car in the caravan was riding on bias ply 5.20 tires and hydraulics, and a half of them had candy paint. It was impressive to see that they were willing to drive so far in such traditional cars even driving thru some rain. It was a great experience and we hope to do it again next time we visit Japan.

Deadend Magazine Weekend Report - Nagoya Japan!

What a weekend! Yes we're a couple days late but I promise you it is definitely worth the wait. This weekend we headed to Nagoya Japan for the Speed and Custom Show. We got to Nagoya a few days early and managed to visit a couple shops and set up a couple shoots. Enjoy..

Our first stop on Friday after a couple hours of sleep was Paradise Road. One of Japan's oldest shops ran by one of Japan's most recognized builders Junichi Shimodaira. We love stopping by Junichi's shop he always has some crazy builds in his shop.

pr16-03.jpg

Our next stop was Art's Body. The fellas there are pumping out some really amazing traditional hot rod & custom car builds recently.

On Saturday before heading to set up the booth for the show we were able to shoot a couple cool bombs from UpperClass Car Club.

Sunday we spent most of the time at the Deadend Magazine booth but had a chance to walk around the Speed and Custom Show and snap some photos. Here is just a small taste of the awesome cars that were in attendance.

On the other side of the show Offline Buy & Trade Swapmeet where there was a lot of neat bikes.

After the show we caught up with the fellas from Pharaohs Car Club and shot some of their cars.

pharaohs03.jpg

We also had a chance to snap a few shots of 2 of the latest builds from Fit Kustoms who have been building some really nice customs recently.

Thanks to everyone who helped & stopped by the booth. Arigato!
