Deadend Magazine Weekend Report - 07/18/17

Another busy weekend in the books. This past Friday we headed to Southern California, our first stop was Santa Clarita, CA to shoot a mild custom Ford Thunderbird recently built by the fellas at Starlite Rod & Kustom. As you can see there are many details on this Bird. Thanks to Edgar & Frank for taking a time of their busy day, we really appreciate it boys.

After shooting with Nana we headed to West Covina to shoot Johnny Urias' custom Mercury. This beautiful 50 Merc was customized by Dick Dean & his son. You can see that the Merc has been chopped, channeled and has a lot of other custom touches from front to back that make it unique.

While we were shooting Johnny called up Ron Gomez to cruise over in his beautiful custom '41 Buick. We were very glad we were able to finally take some snaps of Ron's Buick. Ron has been cruising his Buick up & down California for many years.

Sunday morning we met up with Chuck Schauwecker to shoot his custom 1930 Ford "RodRiguez" built by Junichi Shimodaira of Paradise Road in central Japan. As you can tell Junichi put a lot of time & effort on this radical custom Ford. You can look at the car from every angle and still miss details. Junichi left no area of the car untouched. Chuck has owned and cared for "RodRiguez" for over a decade.

Deadend Magazine Weekend Report - Nagoya Japan!

What a weekend! Yes we're a couple days late but I promise you it is definitely worth the wait. This weekend we headed to Nagoya Japan for the Speed and Custom Show. We got to Nagoya a few days early and managed to visit a couple shops and set up a couple shoots. Enjoy..

Our first stop on Friday after a couple hours of sleep was Paradise Road. One of Japan's oldest shops ran by one of Japan's most recognized builders Junichi Shimodaira. We love stopping by Junichi's shop he always has some crazy builds in his shop.

Our next stop was Art's Body. The fellas there are pumping out some really amazing traditional hot rod & custom car builds recently.

On Saturday before heading to set up the booth for the show we were able to shoot a couple cool bombs from UpperClass Car Club.

Sunday we spent most of the time at the Deadend Magazine booth but had a chance to walk around the Speed and Custom Show and snap some photos. Here is just a small taste of the awesome cars that were in attendance.

On the other side of the show Offline Buy & Trade Swapmeet where there was a lot of neat bikes.

After the show we caught up with the fellas from Pharaohs Car Club and shot some of their cars.

We also had a chance to snap a few shots of 2 of the latest builds from Fit Kustoms who have been building some really nice customs recently.

Thanks to everyone who helped & stopped by the booth. Arigato!

Thanks for lookng!

Throwback - Nagoya Japan trip 2011

Back in 2011 we went to Japan for the first time. Our destination was the Mooneyes Hot Rod & Custom Show in Yokohama Japan, but our journey to get there (a few days in Nagoya) was just as amazing.  Toshi (then Local hero, now Deadend Magazine) picked us up from the airport and the tour of shops began...
